Frequently Asked Questions

How can I access your service?

Self Referral
You can call us directly to make an appointment at any time rather than obtaining a referral from your health practitioner. Although, without a Mental Health Plan, Medicare rebates cannot be accessed.

Medicare Rebates
You can receive a "Mental Health Plan" from your GP which allows you 20 sessions per calendar year to be rebated through Medicare. When calling to make the appointment with your GP, inform reception you are wanting a Mental Health Plan as they may allocate a longer appointment time to complete the referral. Once you have the referral, you can call us to book in. You are initially entitled to 6 rebated sessions. After attending six sessions, you can book a follow-up appointment with your GP for a review following which another 4 sessions may be granted. Due to Covid-19, the government announced that you are now eligible for an additional 10 sessions once you have completed your first ten.

Private Health Fund Rebates
Many private health funds now provide rebates for 'extra' services. Please check with your individual fund regarding what rebates your policy allows (e.g., psychology or naturopathy/nutrition). Note that if a session is rebated by Medicare, you cannot claim any out-of-pocket expense using your private health fund cover.

Third Part Billing
Here at Clarity we partner with multiple organisations and funders to make you experience is stress-free. If a third party is responsible for payment of your account, please provide us with these details upon booking your initial appointment and we will arrange the account to be set up prior to your appointment. Prior approval is sought from third party payees for a specific number of sessions, any non-payment by third party, becomes the client’s responsibility to settle the account.

Your sessions may be covered by:

  • WorkCover QLD

  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

  • Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA)

  • Private Health

  • Compulsory Third Part Insurance

What are your fees?

We are a mixed billing practice. Payment for your session is made on the day of your appointment. The full fee of your sessions is required upfront with rebates and claims processed after. We are able to process your medicare rebate at the time of payment and they should come through to you 1-3 business days later. Eftpos and direct deposit payments are accepted however we do not accept cash.

Individual consultations are available through Medicare Better Access with a Mental Health Plan (obtained from your GP). This gives you six rebated sessions with the possibility of a further four rebated sessions (in a calendar year). You will need to bring your Mental Health Plan with you to your first session or email it to info@clarityconsultants.com.

Private health will need to be claimed by yourself with your insurance company.
